Avtor definira dostopni turizem, okvirno število ljudi s posebnimi potrebami in tegobe, s katerimi se dnevno srečujejo. Turistične organizacije se morajo dandanes takšnim skupinam prilagajati, pa vednar v Sloveniji ni nacionalnih pravil, ki bi ustezno regulirala to področje. Avtor omenja nekaj organizacij, ki se tega problema zavedajo in se z njim ukvarjajo (ŠENT, Turag4All, City hotel, Zdravilišče Laško, Hotel Hum, Hotel Vesna).
